I have natural hair but I don’t always wear it in its natural state which is a big difference between being natural and in natural. I’m still natural however my hair grows better when it is stretched. Less tangles equal less breakage for me. Just like locking your hair. It can still break off if you don’t take care of it but locking your hair helps retain length too!

On a Sunday.. and the year 1991.. a Rabbi said.. " if black women would grow their hair.. it would change the world"! Dookilocks arrived and we went astray.. weaves.. wigs etc.We changed but not in the way he was talking about. Look at us today! Why do black women compete against each other?. Smh. At least 98% is genetics. Yes, we can care for our hair to keep it strong and growing. The myth that black women can't have full heads of hair has played out at least a hundred years. We don't have to prove to anyone anymore that yes, we can have an abundant amount of hair. And who cares what length of hair you decide to wear on your head. We're just brainwashed that long hair is the most beautiful. Me myself, puffy afro era, and loving it.

Hello, naive white person here with a potentially stupid question. Do you style your hair like this every day and how long does it take? The reason I ask is when I straighten my hair it isn’t even straight any more a few hours later (but I also don’t use products so that’s probably why) and I could imagine that it is similar with black hair meaning even without a daily shower in between it might go back to its natural form if that makes any sense. And it looks like so much work, so I wondered whether it’s something one can even do on a daily basis. If anyone has a second to answer this that would make me quite happy, I am trying to learn more about black hair which is how I ended up here ☺️
